Board Chairman and President Joseph Murano,
Age 50:
Joe Murano, President and C.E.O. of Dixie Lee Food
Systems, Ltd. has had an extensive background in franchising and developing
marketing strategies for many companies. After graduation from high school
in 1975, he went on to build a successful pizza chain consisting of 11 stores.
The chain was sold in 1991, following which he purchased
4 video super stores. With Mr. Murano's business knowledge
and his ability to move companies forward, he purchased
the parent company and developed the chain to 65 locations,
with gross sales in excess of $60,000,000.
Mr. Murano acquired the Dixie Lee franchise operations
in May 2007. Mr. Murano has just recently taken Dixie Lee Food Systems,
Ltd. from a 80 store Canadian chicken chain, to a public company. As President
and CEO of the new public company, Mr. Murano is active in managing and
moving the new company forward.
Vice President and Director, David Silvester,
Age 64:
Mr. David Silvester has a long and impressive history
with Dixie Lee, having owned and operated his own Dixie Lee unit, and moving
on as an Area Franchisee of the British Columbia market to develop
17 stores. In 1979, Mr. Silvester purchased the parent company, Dixie Lee
Food Systems, Ltd., and moved the chain from its humble beginnings to over
100 stores in Canada.
On January 31, 2006, Mr. Silvester sold Dixie Lee Food Systems, Inc. to Mr. Mark Graham and has signed a long term contract to
remain with the company in a consulting capacity.
Secretary and Director, Ron Silvestri,
Age 45:
Mr. Ron Silvestri has been employed with Dixie Lee
Food Systems, Ltd. as
Chief Financial Officer since 2002. With well over
20 years of accounting
experience, Mr. Silvestri is an accomplished professional
skilled at
increasing profits and reducing costs through application
of analytical and
business development skills.
While employed as Director of Finance and Administration
with the Canadian Automobile Association in Northeastern
Ontario from 1990 to 1998 Mr.
Silvestri was responsible for all financial and administrative
management
issues related to five branch offices with well over
45 employees and annual
revenue of 13 million. The responsibilities of this
position included to be
a participating member of the Finance Committee and
reporting to the Board of Directors and Shareholders.
In 2002 a position was accepted at Dixie Lee where
Mr. Silvestri implemented new financial and franchising reporting systems within
the Dixie Lee System.This position also involved the
role of financial advisor to the company.
Many new programs were introduced to enhance the profitability
and cash flow of the company.
Director, Mark Graham, Age 49:
Mr. Mark Graham has worked in the franchise industry
since 1973. Mr. Graham successfully operated multiple McDonald's franchise
locations for 17 years from 1973 to 1990. Beginning at the entry level, Mr.
Graham became the youngest store manager in the company at that time.
Through strong operations and attention to detail, the stores under
Mr Graham's management were recognized as the most successful in the Canadian
market in sales, store ratings and profits. Mark Graham has opened
stores around the world on behalf of the McDonalds
corporation, including stores in St John's, Newfoundland,
Whitehorse, Yukon, and he was selected to open the
first McDonald's in Moscow USSR.
